Critical To Do's when you start your GA-ship

When you start:

  1.  Contact the Graduate Admissions office with all of your general questions about paperwork. Student employment can provide information about paychecks and timesheets.
    • If you have questions specific to the MARC office about timesheets, they should be directed to Theresa

It is also your responsibility to follow up on paperwork filed by anyone on your behalf

    • Paperwork to think about
      • Direct deposit (Student Employment)
      • Contracts (College of Grad Studies)
      • Timesheets (BSU website)
2.   Get copies of all presentations
  • They are in Dropbox but you should NOT plan on using that at schools (you will probably not have Internet access) – make sure to save on a flash drive or on you computer (both is best)
3.   Create Gmail account – general format we use is “name”[email protected]
4.   Create canned responses – there is a document in the Dropbox
5.   Sync to Dropbox (look for a tutorial)
6.   Make sure you have a computer and a car that is reliable – these are essential tools for this position
7.   Get a clicker (may be available in the office – ask)
8.   Familiarize yourself with MARCcenter.org
9.   Familiarize yourself with MARC research
10.   Familiarize yourself with Moodle – see Teaching and Technology Dept. or other GA’s for help
